Finding Peace and Abundance in Christ

A family bible study by Keith M. Craddock

Finding Peace and Abundance in Christ

In a world filled with uncertainty and chaos, it can be easy to feel anxious and overwhelmed. But as followers of Christ, we have the promise of peace and abundance in Him.

God's Protection and Guidance

In Psalm 91, we read:
"Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" (Psalm 91:1-2)
This psalm reminds us that God is our refuge and fortress, our protector and guide. We can trust in Him to keep us safe and direct us on our journey.

The Thief Comes to Steal, But Jesus Gives Abundant Life

In John 10:10, Jesus says:
"The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full."
Jesus contrasts Himself with the thief (Satan), who comes to steal, kill, and destroy. But Jesus comes to give us abundant life, life that is full and meaningful.

Jesus Gives Us Life, and We Will Never Perish

In John 21:17, Jesus says to Peter:
"Feed my sheep."
But earlier in the chapter, Jesus tells Peter:
"Very truly I tell you, when you were younger you dressed yourself and went where you wanted; but when you are old you will stretch out your hands, and someone else will dress you and lead you where you do not want to go." (John 21:18)
Jesus is predicting Peter's future, but He also gives him a promise:
"Follow me!" (John 21:19, 22)
And in John 10:28, Jesus says:
"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand."
Jesus gives us eternal life, and we will never perish. We are secure in His hand.

Conclusion

As we navigate the ups and downs of life, we can find peace and abundance in Christ. He is our protector and guide, our refuge and fortress. He gives us abundant life, and we will never perish. Let us follow Him and trust in His goodness.

Reflection Questions

  • How can you trust in God's protection and guidance in your life?

  • How can you follow Jesus and live out your faith in practical ways?

Prayer
