Sheltered in God's Presence: Finding Safety and Security

Sheltered in God's Presence: Finding Safety and Security

Life can be unpredictable and overwhelming, leaving us feeling vulnerable and alone. But as Christians, we know that we are not alone. We have a God who loves us, protects us, and provides for us.
In Psalm 91, we read, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" This psalm reminds us that God is our shelter, our refuge, and our fortress.
When we're feeling overwhelmed, it's easy to lose sight of God's presence in our lives. But Psalm 23 reminds us that He is always with us, guiding us and comforting us. "The Lord is my shepherd, I lack nothing. He makes me lie down in green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, he refreshes my soul."
We can also look to Psalm 121 for comfort. "I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." God is our help, our protection, and our provider.
Psalm 125 reminds us that God is our stability and our security. "Those who trust in the Lord are like Mount Zion, which cannot be shaken but endures forever. As the mountains surround Jerusalem, so the Lord surrounds his people both now and forevermore." We can trust that God is always with us, surrounding us with His love and protection.
In conclusion, life may be unpredictable and overwhelming at times, but we are not alone. We have a God who loves us, protects us, and provides for us. Let us run to Him for shelter, trusting that He will keep us safe and secure.

Trusting in the Lord: A Foundation for Life

Trusting in the Lord: A Foundation for Life

As Christians, we know that trusting in the Lord is essential for living a life that honors Him. But what does it mean to truly trust in the Lord?
In Proverbs 3:5-6, we read, "Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." These verses remind us that trusting in the Lord requires surrendering our own understanding and submitting to His will.
Trusting in the Lord means recognizing that He is sovereign over all things, and that His ways are higher than ours. It means acknowledging that we don't have all the answers, and that we need to rely on His wisdom and guidance.
When we trust in the Lord, we can have confidence that He will direct our paths and make our ways straight. We can trust that He will provide for us, protect us, and give us wisdom for the challenges we face.
So how can we cultivate trust in the Lord? Here are a few practical steps:
  • Spend time in God's Word, reading and meditating on His promises.
  • Pray regularly, asking for God's guidance and wisdom.
  • Surrender your worries and fears to God, trusting that He is in control.
  • Seek to obey God's commands, even when it's hard or uncertain.
In conclusion, trusting in the Lord is a foundation for living a life that honors Him. When we trust in the Lord, we can have confidence that He will direct our paths and make our ways straight.

Under God's Wings: Finding Refuge in Times of Trouble

Under God's Wings: Finding Refuge in Times of Trouble

Life can be unpredictable and overwhelming, leaving us feeling vulnerable and alone. But as Christians, we know that we are not alone. We have a God who loves us, protects us, and provides for us.
In Psalm 91, we read, "Whoever dwells in the shelter of the Most High will rest in the shadow of the Almighty. I will say of the Lord, 'He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust.'" This psalm reminds us that God is our refuge, our shelter, and our protection.
In times of trouble, we can cry out to God for help. Psalm 27 says, "The Lord is my light and my salvation— whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life— of whom shall I be afraid?" God is our light, our salvation, and our stronghold.
But what about when we're feeling weak and helpless? Psalm 34 reminds us that God is our helper. "I sought the Lord, and he answered me; he delivered me from all my fears. Those who look to him are radiant; their faces are never covered with shame."
When we're facing challenges and obstacles, it's easy to feel like giving up. But Psalm 40 encourages us to wait patiently for God. "I waited patiently for the Lord; he turned to me and heard my cry. He lifted me out of the slimy pit, out of the mud and mire; he set my feet on a rock and gave me a firm place to stand."
In times of trouble, we can also remember God's faithfulness to us in the past. Psalm 51 says, "Have mercy on me, O God, according to your unfailing love; according to your great compassion blot out my transgressions." God's love and compassion are unfailing, and He is always faithful to us.
As we navigate the ups and downs of life, we can look to God as our constant companion. Psalm 121 says, "I lift up my eyes to the mountains— where does my help come from? My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth." God is our help, our protection, and our provider.
Finally, Psalm 70 reminds us to hasten to God in times of trouble. "Hasten, O God, to save me; come quickly, Lord, to help me." God is always ready to help us, and He is always with us.
In conclusion, life may be unpredictable and overwhelming at times, but we are not alone. We have a God who loves us, protects us, and provides for us. Let us run to Him in times of trouble, and find refuge under His wings.

God's Timing

 God's Timing

A family bible study by Keith M. Craddock

Have you ever felt like you're waiting forever for something to happen? Maybe you're waiting for a breakthrough, a healing, or a new opportunity. Whatever it is, it's easy to get impatient and wonder when God is going to show up.

Waiting on God

In Psalm 27:14, we read:
"Wait for the Lord; be strong and take heart and wait for the Lord."
Waiting on God is not always easy, but it's a crucial part of trusting in His timing. When we wait on God, we're showing that we trust in His goodness and sovereignty.

Trusting in God's Ways

In Proverbs 3:5-6, we read:
"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight."
Trusting in God's ways is not always easy, especially when we can't see what's ahead. But when we trust in God, we can know that He is working everything out for our good.

Renewed Strength

In Isaiah 40:31, we read:
"But those who hope in the Lord will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint."
When we hope in God, we will renew our strength. We'll be able to soar on wings like eagles, run and not grow weary, and walk and not be faint.

God is With Us

In Jeremiah 20:11, we read:
"But the Lord is with me like a mighty warrior; so my persecutors will stumble and not prevail. They will fail and be thoroughly disgraced; their dishonor will never be forgotten."
God is with us, even in the midst of difficult circumstances. He's a mighty warrior who will fight for us and defend us.

Peace That Transcends Understanding

In Philippians 4:6-7, we read:
"Do not be anxious about anything, but in every situation, by prayer and petition, with thanksgiving, present your requests to God. And the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
When we pray and give thanks to God, we can experience peace that transcends understanding. This peace will guard our hearts and minds, even in the midst of uncertainty.

Conclusion

God's timing is not always our timing. But when we wait on God, trust in His ways, and hope in His goodness, we can know that He is working everything out for our good. Let us be strong and take heart, knowing that God is with us and will renew our strength.

Reflection Questions

  • What are you waiting for God to do in your life?
  • How can you trust in God's ways and timing?
  • What does it mean to you to hope in God and renew your strength?

Prayer

Dear Heavenly Father, thank You for Your goodness and sovereignty. Help us to wait on You, trust in Your ways, and hope in Your goodness. Renew our strength and give us peace that transcends understanding. In Jesus' name, Amen
